Prescriptions during the COVID-19 pandemic

In view of the current COVID-19 pandemic, for the safety of our patients and staff, we ask that you consider the following points when ordering your medication:

Ordering Medication

We ask that all patients, whenever possible, consider using the app or website to request their medication.

If these online methods are not possible, we will temporarily allow medication requests to be taken by a dispenser over the telephone. Please be patient if trying to order medication in this way. The combination of staff absences and increased demand, is likely to create additional delays in phones being answered. We appreciate that this can be very frustrating, but we are doing all that we can at this difficult time.

We ask that you avoid coming into the surgery to request your medication

Electronic Prescribing

To avoid footfall through the surgery we will be issuing all prescriptions electronically, directly to the pharmacy. When requesting your medication please specify which pharmacy you would like to use and we will send it there.

Batch prescribing

To reduce pressure on the service over the coming weeks and months, and to avoid any interruption to the supply of medication to patients, GPs will be considering prescribing a three month batch of medications when issuing monthly repeats. This means that instead of one prescription, three separate one month prescriptions will be issued at once. You should receive a text informing you if this has been possible.

Unfortunately, we are not allowed issue batch prescriptions for controlled drugs and it is not safe to do so for certain other drugs (methotrexate being one example).

The Partners thank you for your understanding and cooperation for adhering to the above advice.
