πŸ’œ Retirement Announcement πŸ’œ
It is with sadness that we announce that Dr Rock will be retiring from Theale Medical Centre at the end of March, after 29 years of dedicated service.
Dr Rock has made the decision to retire in order to spend more time with her family and friends. During her time at the practice, she has cared for generations of patients and played a vital role in supporting our community.
Dr Rock would like to share the following message:
β€œI feel extremely privileged to have worked with such an amazing team at TMC. Every person in the practice plays a vital supportive role in providing medical care to our community. It has been an honour to work alongside such dedicated colleagues. I would also like to thank the Patient Participation Group for their continued support of Theale, Calcot and the surrounding villages.”
Dr Rock’s patients will continue to be cared for by our existing and expanding clinical team.
She will be greatly missed by both patients and staff, and we would like to thank her for her commitment, compassion and dedication over nearly three decades.
We wish Dr Rock a long, happy and well deserved retirement πŸ’πŸ’

Referrals

Self referrals

There are a number of services locally that you are able to make self referrals to.

GP referrals

To request a GP referral:

Provide as much information as you can as this will help us to process your request.

I would like to track a referral

If your doctor has referred you to a specialist for further care, we will refer you to whichever local hospital has the shortest waiting list, unless a specific hospital or consultant has been requested.

In most cases, the hospital will then be in touch with you to book an appointment – the time frame for this can vary depending on the department and their current wait times. We will email you with your referral details and all the information you will need to track it. If we do not have an email address for you, we will contact you to collect the letter from reception once it’s ready.

In some cases, you may need to book the appointment yourself, this will be clearly stated on the referral letter that we email to you or ask you to collect.

If you do not hear from us with your referral letter within 2 weeks, please contact us using the Track a referral form.

To track your referral, please visit the e-Referral website with the information on your referral letter.

Urgent referrals

If you have been referred for suspected cancer and have not received the letter with the referral details from us within 2 working days, please contact us using the Track a referral form. You will then hear directly from the hospital with an appointment, if you do not hear from them within 2 weeks, please contact using the details on the referral letter we have sent you.
