Did you know you can access contraception directly from participating pharmacies?
The NHS Pharmacy Contraception Service allows eligible patients to access contraception from participating community pharmacies without needing to book an appointment at the GP surgery.
The service can provide:
- Starting or continuing the contraceptive pill
- Ongoing contraception supplies
- Emergency contraception
- Advice and support about your contraception options
How does it work?
If you contact the surgery about contraception, we may be able to signpost you to a participating pharmacy where a trained pharmacist can assess your needs and provide the appropriate service.
You can also choose to contact a participating pharmacy directly.
Pharmacy services and availability can vary, so please check with the pharmacy before attending.
If you are unsure whether the service is suitable for you, please contact the surgery and we can advise you on the available options.
